Shipping overview.

It’s simple – products from online stores need to be shipped! For Vendors, the general shipping process starts with making an online sale, determining which products to package, calculating the total package size and weight, confirming the shipping destination, choosing a shipping carrier, calculating the shipping cost, and finally, sending the packaging with the appropriate carrier. Vendors have to consider three very important things: product size and weight (smallest to biggest), shipping destination (domestic or international) and shipping services (the most suitable carriers). This means they have to figure out their packaging, labelling, policies, carriers, costs and more… phew, what a process! Once Vendors have all of that figured out, they need to to configure their shipping options on their store. To set up shipping, Vendors need to define shipping zones, then add shipping methods to those zones, and set the cost of each method.

A “Shipping Zone” is a geographical area that items are shipped to. A “Shipping Method” is the means of delivery, such as Local Pickup, Flat Rate Shipping and Free Shipping (these are the options that you will choose from when checking out). A shipping zone can contain multiple shipping methods. Vendors can be as specific or as general as they like when creating zones by adding regions and zip codes. So this means that when you are checking out of our online marketplace, you will only see the shipping methods available for your address. If you enter a shipping address that is in a zone without shipping methods, then you will be informed that no shipping is available. Once you have selected your shipping method, and placed your order, the Vendor will send it to you as soon as possible.
